Shipment statuses

Shipping carriers use a variety of interchangeable terms to indicate delivery milestones. Returnless consolidates all the variations of shipping statuses received by different carriers into a readable format for you. Descriptions of the available status can be found below. These are then used to trigger tracking notifications, or to display the current status of a parcel in the return panel.

Status descriptions

ID Title Description
address-invalid Address invalid The provided address details are not correct.
announced Announced The shipping label has been announced at the carrier.
announced-not-collected Announced: not collected The label is announced, but not yet collected by the driver.
announcement-failed Announcement failed The label was not successfully announced at the carrier.
at-customs At customs The parcel is passing through customs checks at the border.
at-sorting-center At sorting centre The parcel has arrived at the carrier sorting hub.
awaiting-webshop-pickup Awaiting webshop pickup The parcel has been delivered to a service point and is awaiting collection by the webshop.
being-announced Being announced The shipping label is awaiting announcement at the carrier.
being-sorted Being sorted The parcel is being sorted at the carrier sorting hub.
cancellation-requested Cancellation requested A request has been made to cancel this shipment. The request is still pending.
cancelled Cancellation requested A request has been made to cancel this shipment. The request is still approved and the shipment has been cancelled.
delivered Delivered The parcel has been delivered to the webshop.
delivery-address-changed Delivery address changed The delivery address has been modified.
delivery-attempt-failed Delivery attempt failed The parcel could not be delivered to the webshop.
delivery-date-changed Delivery date changed The delivery date for this parcel was changed.
delivery-delayed Delivery delayed The delivery will take place at a later time or date.
delivery-method-changed Delivery method changed The method of delivery has been modified.
dropped-off Dropped off The parcel has been dropped off at a parcelshop by the consumer.
en-route-to-sorting-center En route to sorting center The driver is on the way to the sorting centre.
error-collecting Error collecting The parcel could not be collected by the driver.
exception Exception There has been an exception with the parcel.
no-label No label There is no label attached to the parcel.
not-sorted Not sorted The parcel has not been sorted at the carrier sorting hub.
parcel-en-route Parcel en route The parcel is on the way to be delivered.
refused-by-recipient Refused by recipient The webshop refused to accept the delivery.
returned-to-sender Returned to sender The parcel was returned to the consumer. Most of the times this occurs if the carrier was unable to deliver the parcel.

shipment-collected-by-webshop Shipment collected by webshop The webshop has collected the parcel from a service point.
shipment-picked-up-by-driver Shipment picked up by driver The driver has collected the parcel from the service point or requested pickup location.
unable-to-deliver Unable to deliver The parcel could not be delivered to the webshop.
unknown-status Unknown status The current status of the parcel is unknown.
