MCP AI Integration
Returnless has an MCP (Model Context Protocol) connector, so you can connect an AI assistant directly to your Returnless account. Once connected, the assistant can look up returns and shipments, and, with your approval, add notes, add tags, approve or reject requests, and update statuses.

Connecting
The Returnless MCP connector is available at: https://mcp.returnless.com/
To connect an AI assistant to your Returnless account:
- In your AI assistant, open the connector or integration settings.
- Add a new connector using the URL above.
- You will be redirected to log in to Returnless and authorize the connection.
- Once authorized, the assistant only has access to the Returnless account you logged in with. No API key is shared with the assistant directly.
Note: A connection is scoped to a single Returnless account. If you manage multiple accounts, each one needs its own connection.
Tool permissions
Most AI assistants let you control whether a tool is allowed to run on its own, or needs your confirmation first. How this works, and what the options are called, differs per assistant. Some ask before every write action, some let you set a permission per tool, some remember a choice for the length of a session. Check your AI assistant's own documentation for how it handles this.
This is a setting inside your AI assistant, not something Returnless configures. Whether to require confirmation for the tools below is up to you, or up to your organization if you're part of one.

Example prompts
Once connected, you can try prompts like:
- "Show me all returns from this week with reason wrong size, grouped by product."
- "Look up order ORD-1234 and tell me if there's a return linked to it."
- "Which returns are tagged as damaged?"
- "Add a note to RE-2026-0123 saying the item has been received."
- "Approve return request RE-2026-0123."
Test mode
If your Returnless account is in test mode, test return orders are hidden from the assistant by default. To include them, say so explicitly, for example: "Include test records and show me my most recent return request."
Limitations
- A connection only covers one Returnless account. It cannot be reused to look up returns for other tenants.
- Whether the assistant can view an attached photo or document, rather than just see that one exists, depends on what your specific AI assistant supports.
